Global Warming Mums
Vermont Organics is promoting five mums that bloom late in the season after other fall mums have passed.

'Autumn Moon' is pale yellow with a hint of pink in the ray flowers. Single form, typically 18 to 20 inches tall. Twenty to 25 m© 2011 -
'Glowing Ember' is autumn red with a gold edge on the ray florets. Semi-double form, typically 22 to 24 inches tall. Sixteen to© 2011 -
'Pink Dawn' is light pink with a light yellow ring of color in the ray florets beyond the disc. Typically 22 to 24 inches tall w© 2011 -
'Purple Mist' is a light purple, single form that's typically 22 to 24 inches tall. Fourteen to 16 flowers per stem with 30 to 3© 2011 -
'Rustic Glow' is burnt orange and typically 18 to 20 inches tall. Flower size is 3 1/2 inches in diameter with 14 to 16 blooms p© 2011

Vermont Organics Reclamation specializes in recycling organic materials to make products like potting soil, but it also recently introduced five mums in a Global Warming series that it's touting as mums that bloom late in the season after others have passed. The late-blooming mums provide food for bees and beneficial insects still looking for food due to warmer, extended fall seasons. Sinclair A. Adam Jr. is the breeder of the series.
The five varieties are:
- 'Autumn Moon'
- 'Glowing Ember'
- 'Pink Dawn'
- 'Purple Mist'
- 'Rustic Glow'
