Syngenta Acquires Fischer

A global consolidation wave hit the cuttings side of our industry last week when Syngenta annouced it is acquiring the Fischer group for $67 million. With $8.1 billion in sales, Syngenta is a giant in world agriculture in agronomic markets, as well as horticulture and floriculture, specializing in crop protection and seed. Fischer is the second largest cuttings producer with leadership positions in geraniums, New Guinea impatiens and poinsettias.
