America In Bloom (AIB) is a grassroots industry promotion that connects people with plants by engaging communities of all sizes in a national competition. For seven years, AIB has engaged 165 communities in seven states. AIB judges visit the communities and evaluate their efforts in eight criteria - floral displays, landscaped areas, urban forestry, turf and groundcover areas, environmental awareness, tidiness, heritage preservation and community involvement. For these towns, AIB has been a wonderful revitalization program that blooms for years after it is planted. The best way to revitalize your markets is to act locally.
