How To Grow Holiday Plants Sustainably

Peace Tree Farm hosts event open the entire sustainability community.

Want to learn about the options growers have for growing poinsettias without chemicals? The next event from the Pennsylvania Association For Sustainable Agriculture, Revel in the Spirit of Sustainable Holiday Plants: A Certified Organic Greenhouse Operation, will tell you how this Thursday, November 18 at Peace Tree Farm, Kintnersville, Pa. 

Lloyd and Candy Traven will discuss their cultivation and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices. While these practices are not species specific, the event will focus on the plants of this season: poinsettias, cyclamen and amaryllis. 

Peace Tree Farm is one of the first certified organic greenhouses in the region, providing herbs, begonias, poinsettias and other specialty plants. Peace Tree Farm's acre of greenhouses is located on a 25-acre farm.
