This Whetman selection has a unique color pattern and would be a good fit for retail endcaps.

'Starburst' is a Whetman dianthus selection that's ideal for retail endcap promotions. This dwarf dianthus has art deco-patterned semi-double flowers with cherry red and white stripes that look like old-fashioned humbug sweets.

'Starburst' has a long flowering period - from April to October - and will grow well in a sunny spot in well-drained soil. It's compact with a tidy mounding habit that's about 7 by 7 inches of grey-green foliage. 'Starburst' is USDA Zone 5 hardy and requires no vernalization.
