Spring Meadow Nursery, Inc., in Grand Haven, Mich., will now be a supplier partner of the American Beauties Native Plants to offer native shrub liners to finished growers and grower-retailers nationwide.
Spring Meadow will provide more than 30 varieties of Spring Meadow shrubs under the American Beauties brand. All native shrub liners will come complete with branded American Beauties pots and oversized tags featuring habitat-use descriptions and care instructions.
The partnership will help Spring Meadow meet the demand for native plants, which is on the rise as a growing number of U.S. gardeners and homeowners try to attract wildlife by providing sources for food and shelter, says Spring Meadow General Manager Jeremy Deppe.
"Partnering with American Beauties gives our growers access to the leading native plant brand in both the retail and landscape markets and allows them more choices for what works best in the environment of their customers," he says.
The founder of the brand, Steve Castorani, is also president of North Creek Nurseries in Landenberg, Pa. The network of growers consists of North Creek Nurseries, Prides Corner Farms in Lebanon, Conn., and Midwest Ground Covers in St. Charles, Ill.
"The addition of Spring Meadow expands our grower network to reach customers in markets currently under-served by American Beauties," Castorani says. "This is perfect for smaller grower-retailers who want to be a part of the American Beauties program."
American Beauties plants are chosen for the climate and soil they evolve in, as well as their abilities to attract wildlife like birds, butterflies, dragonflies and other creatures. As part of the American Beauties commitment, every plant sold benefits the National Wildlife Federation to help fund natural habitat work and outreach programs.
