Starting in October 2007, OFA will manage the Southeast Greenhouse Conference (SGC), an educational conference and trade show held in Greenville, S.C. Terri Bates Cantwell, chair of the SGC board, says the board underwent an extensive search process to identify a new management team.
"We are excited about this new opportunity to work with OFA," she says. "They have a proven track record of association and event management. In addition, their areas of expertise complement SGC's mission. We are excited to have John Holmes and his staff as our management team."
OFA will continue to manage the OFA Short Course in Columbus, Ohio, but is expanding its management to other organizations and events. "OFA's mission is to support and promote all floriculture professionals and this is a great opportunity for us to reach out and assist another industry organization. It's a win-win for everyone," says incoming OFA President Bobby Barnitz.
