Tornado Takes Toll On CSU Research Facilities

The Agricultural Research, Development and Education Center (ARDEC), a research center administered by the Colorado Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES), took a major hit May 22 when a tornado ripped through its Fort Collins, Colo., facilities and caused significant structural damage.

Some of the tornado’s worst damage was done to the roof of the facility in this photo. To view a gallery of the havoc the tornado wreaked, click here.

ARDEC is actually part of a network of eight research centers on 10 sites throughout the state of Colorado that’s administered by the CAES or individual departments within Colorado State University. ARDEC conducts agriculture research instruction and outreach programs in the areas of soil and crop science, plant science and pest management.
