Top 100 Grower Earns VeriFlora Certification

Floral Plant Growers (FPG), ranked 27th this year on Greenhouse Grower’s Top 100 Growers report, recently completed sustainability certification at its Denmark, Wis., facility through the VeriFlora program.

According to FPG, it is the fourth potted plant producer, the second plug producer and the first open market plug and liner producer in North America to attain VeriFlora certification. To earn certification, FPG had to meet requirements regarding pest management, media fertility, production yields, energy efficiency, carbon footprint, integrated waste management, water conservation and ecosystem protection.

“We feel that attaining sustainability certification is the right thing for our company, employees, customers, ownership and community,” COO Scott Lueder says. “Being one of the first young and potted plant producers to complete this rigorous program demonstrates FPG’s commitment not only to the present, but also the future.”
