Editor Laura Drotleff, newly appointed Senior Editor/Senior Online Editor Brian Sparks, Managing Editor Janeen Wright and Publisher George Casey have been drawing up blueprints for a new spin-off product to be called Greenhouse Grower TECHNOLOGY — focused specifically on new equipment and automation technology. New for 2016, “GG Tech” will keep you up to speed on the latest innovations and how to integrate new technology into your production systems, shave costs and manage margins in a challenging economy for greenhouse-produced crops.

Also, many of you will soon be receiving an enewsletter called Greenhouse Grower RETAILING. This is but the first of a series of focused reports and informational products on the business of grower-retailing for multiple personnel in the greenhouse operation, especially those who work directly in the retailing operation and look to shifts at the consumer level to help inform decisions on variety selection and packaging. This new product is edited by media veteran Carol Miller, who honed her knowledge of the retail sector as editor of Today’s Garden Center magazine. She’s also developing a companion farm-marketing product for sister publications American Fruit Grower® and Western Fruit Grower®, American Vegetable Grower® and Florida Grower® magazines.

In fact, because so many cross-crop mega-trends are intersecting in controlled-atmosphere production at once — especially the growth of vegetables, herbs and other consumables; the rise of organics; and consumer interest in locally grown products — we’re bringing Greenhouse Grower and its affiliated products under the veteran editorial leadership of Richard Jones as he oversees an expanded version of Meister Media Worldwide’s U.S. Horticulture Group.
