GreenhouseConnect Draws Top Growers And Suppliers For Premier Networking Event

greenhouse connectGreenhouse Grower hosted its first GreenhouseConnect event October 22-25 at Saddlebrook Resort in Tampa, Fla. The event brought together top growers and suppliers for one-on-one meetings and networking, in a focused but relaxed atmosphere.

The event kicked off with a high-energy grower roundtable, moderated by Jim Paluch from J.P. Horizons. The grower-only event focused on important issues that are critical to grower operations. Growers worked together to identify realistic action items on topics including labor, profits, transportation and water management. A welcome reception followed the grower roundtable, providing some more networking opportunities for growers and suppliers.

During the luncheon on Thursday, October 23, Gary Mangum, CEO of Bell Nursery, based in Elkridge, Md., led a wide-ranging discussion on neonicotinoids and pollinator health. Mangum addressed lessons learned from Bell Nursery’s experience growing without neonicotinoids in 2014 and provided an update from his work behind the scenes in the industry.
