Spending Up In February
For the second month in a row, consumers spent more money, the number edging up by 0.2 percent, the Commerce Department reported. The report follows a 1 percent jump in January.
However, incomes fell by 0.2 percent in February, thanks to a significant number of layoffs.
The spending increases followed six declines between July and December.
