39th Annual Today’s Horticulture Symposium Will Be February 6

The Professional Gardener Alumni Association (PGAA) will hold the 39th Annual Today’s Horticulture Symposium program will be on February 6, 2015. Sponsored by Longwood Gardens, Mt. Cuba Center and the Chanticleer Foundation, the day-long symposium is designed to kick-off the gardening season for the horticulture professional, landscape designer and architect, horticulture student and passionate gardener.

The symposium will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Ballroom at Longwood Gardens, and feature an array of engaging speakers, including Gordon Hayward, nationally recognized garden writer, designer and lecturer; and Kelly Griffin, plantsman recognized for introducing unique succulents to the commercial plant trade. Other topics will explore the botany of beer, plant breeding for the home gardener and insights into natural land management in the 21st century.

“We are excited to host a diverse panel of speakers who will provide practical approaches and motivate us in the garden, while sharing inspirational perspectives on their topics,” says Shelby French, symposium chair and assistant greenhouse manager at the Mt. Cuba Center.
