Ball Seed Selects Three Winners Of Its Ball WebTrack Contest

Staff members at Integrated Botanics celebrate winning the grand prize of the Ball WebTrack contest.

Ball Seed has announced three grand-prize recipients of its WebTrack “winWIN” contest. Out of more than 42,000 submissions, the winners were randomly selected to make their companies winners of a pizza party luncheon from Ball Seed:

  • Richard Conner, Conner Farms, Nathalie, Va.
  • Chase Sides, Integrated Botanics, Fort Worth, Texas
  • Leland Headings, Stutzman Greenhouse, Hutchinson, Kan.

The WebTrack “winWIN” contest began at Short Course in Columbus, Ohio, last year with the launch of the newly redesigned WebTrack online business management system. Through February, hundreds of Ball Seed customers logged on to the new WebTrack and completed various tasks for multiple entry possibilities.

“I kept saying, ‘I want to win this,’” Sides says.

“We’re so excited. This is a great treat for our company,” Headings says.

“It’s great to get some happy news and reward the team for their hard work,” Conner says.

Each company and its entire staff will receive a visit from its Ball Seed sales representative along with key members of the Ball Seed and WebTrack crews. The pizza party will be hosted at a time convenient to the winners’ schedules.

“We’re thrilled to award the WebTrack winWIN contest prizes to these special Ball Seed customers, and we thank everyone who participated,” says Jason Hough, sales director for Ball Seed. “The new WebTrack is making growers’ lives easier, and these grand-prize winners get a much-deserved time to relax and have fun after a busy season.”

The Ball Seed WebTrack business management system lets growers browse the industry’s largest selection of online inventory from hundreds of suppliers and helps them manage their paperwork online.

Technology Is Changing the Game for Growers

Technology is sexy. There’s a fervor associated with buying the latest go-go-gadget — and a fear of missing out if we don’t. We all want that latest, most advanced smartphone, home assistant, or wearable tech, no matter the cost. And jobs associated with technology? Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter — offer some of the most competitive and coveted positions on the planet. Just look at the stir Amazon made when it announced it would build a $50 billion second headquarters, with cities from all over North America clamoring to be the one chosen, considering the significant economic potential. Technology and tech jobs are it — and it’s no wonder growers don’t feel jobs in horticulture can compete. But what if they can? If tech jobs are the future and the future of horticulture depends on technology, then we have a real opportunity to seize. Millennials who have grown up […]
