They’re two revolutionary plants that got the industry talking over the last two years. Some growers love them while others loath them. But rather than pore over your own emotional response to such plants, you should instead be asking consumers what they think of them. At least that’s the advice one reader offers in response to Managing Editor Kevin Yanik’s September column, “Innovation Critics Not Welcome.” The reader’s advice:

“The great thing about the market is that bad ideas don’t tend to last. If you’re not trying new things you’ll be a dinosaur soon enough. And if you pay attention to your customers you’ll find the good ideas that help you grow. I absolutely hate black petunias. But they look great at my mom’s house. Pay attention to your customers.
