New Officers And Directors At National Garden Bureau and All-America Selections

National Garden Bureau (NGB), the non-profit organization promoting gardening on behalf of the horticulture industry, and All-America Selections (AAS), the non-profit organization that promotes winners of specific professional garden trials, met recently during the American Seed Trade Association’s (ASTA) Flower & Vegetable Seed Conference in California to plan future activities and elect board members.

During the meeting, NGB members elected a new President, Vice President, and three new directors to the Board. The 2016-2017 officers as:
• President: Heather Kibble, Sakata Seed
• Vice-President: Tim Hodson, Great American Publishing
• Past President: Claire Watson, PanAmerican Seed
• Treasurer: Mike Connelly, American Takii

Three new directors joined Rebecca Lusk of Dümmen Orange and Jeanne Svob of SHS Griffin on the NGB Board:
• John Fendley, Sustainable Seeds
• Ryan McEnaney, Bailey Nurseries
• Mike Lizotte, American Meadows

NGB’s future plans include introducing new programs to help members promote their products and sustaining the awareness of gardening as a fun and beneficial activity.

Each organization is on a two-year rotation of electing officers, so AAS elected one new Director to add to the current board, currently led by officers:
• President: Angus Mellish, Vesey Seed
• Vice-President: Connie Dam-Byl, William Dam Seeds
• Past President: Ron Cramer, Xiant Technologies
• Treasurer: Patty Buskirk, Seeds By Design

All-America Selections welcomes Tony Nederhand of Express Seed to the Board to join current directors John Burrows of ProVeg Seeds, Justin Hancock of Costa Farms, Mark Gross of PanAmerican Seed, Jenny Kuhn of C. Raker & Sons, and Jenny Wegley of the Dallas Arboretum.
