Platt Hill’s Mini Demo Gardens Come With Plant Lists

Platt Hill Nursery, with two locations in the Chicago area, has hit on a way to show customers how different plants look together. The areas in front of its older, small hoop houses have been planted up with a series of gardens.

None of them are large, and they are all mixed in with the main store traffic patterns. A sign stand is placed in front of each one, with a numbered list of plants printed on it. In the garden itself, the numbers on the plant list correspond with small, green, numbered signs on spikes, marking which plant is which.

It’s a simple concept, and one that makes gardening more approachable.
