Your Chance To Help America In Bloom As It Celebrates Its 15th Anniversary

America In Bloom ProjectAmerica in Bloom (AIB), a group that promotes nationwide beautification through education and community involvement by encouraging the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. As a build-up to its 15th Symposium and Awards Celebration, taking place Oct. 6-8 in Arroyo Grande, CA, the group has launched a three-week fundraising effort.

Specifically, AIB is looking for individual donations of $115 to help the organization reach its landmark goal of $115,000 in new funds to advance the AIB mission to create vibrant communities across the country.

“America in Bloom helps the entire ornamental horticulture industry (floriculture, turf, and nursery) as we grow the market one city at a time,” says AIB Treasurer and Past President Marvin Miller of Ball Horticultural Co. “We’ve been doing this successfully for 15 years!”

Those who join this special crowdfunding effort by September 15 will be includes in AIB’s 15th Anniversary Symposium & Awards Program Celebration brochure and in all related post-Symposium publicity.

  1. My community participates in America in Bloom and I can attest to the program’s value to the industry. Not only do WE buy lots of plants from local growers, now residents and businesses do, too. It’s a great program and it can grow to be bigger with additional funding. Most town governments in New England cannot afford to fund plantings in public spaces. America in Bloom spreads that burden effectively to create communities where groups collaborate to improve the entire town. It’s not just about the flowers, but the flowers certainly attract notice and open the way for improvements in the environment, historic preservation, urban forestry and more. Please donate!
