California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill Tuesday aimed at reducing the state’s water use by 20 percent over the next decade.

The bill creates a framework for future planning and actions by urban and agricultural water suppliers to reduce California's water use by establishing multiple pathways to achieve the statewide goal of a 20 percent reduction in urban water use.

Schwarzenegger’s wants to reach the 20 percent conservation goal by 2020.

“I don’t think you will see a major problem in conservation because the people have been really great in participating when they know there’s a crisis,” he says.
