Horticulture and floriculture students can apply for more than 20 different scholarships that are available now through the American Floral Endowment.
AFE encourages students to apply for scholarships early, as there is a great need for financial assistance in floriculture and environmental horticulture programs. For 2014, AFE will award less than $40,000 in scholarships.
“AFE’s robust scholarships provide financial assistance to both undergraduate and graduate students to help in their journey of becoming the next great leaders in floriculture and horticulture,” says Debi Aker, executive director of AFE. “An investment in their education is an investment in the future of the industry.”
The application deadline is May 1. Applications are open to sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as graduate students.
Applications, requirements and complete descriptions of each AFE scholarship can be found on AFE’s website. Applications and supporting materials must be received by the May 1 deadline.
A list of 2013 AFE scholarship recipients is also available on the AFE website.
