California Spring Trials 2013 Preview: New Perennial Introductions

Echinacea purpurea ‘Supreme Cantaloupe’ from Blooms of Bressingham

The flower is absolutely the color of a ripe cantaloupe — there is nothing else like it. Double anemone, non-fading blooms open the first season and last into the fall. Young flowers look like a brown-eyed, double gerbera and are excellent as a cut flower. As the flowers expand, they take on a more of an echinacea look. Bred by Terra Nova Nurseries.
