Griffin Greenhouse Supplies has acquired distributor W.H. Milikowski, Inc., effective Monday, Jan 7, 2013.

Griffin is a leading provider of greenhouse and nursery supplies, serving professional growers since 1947. Through its hard-goods business, Griffin spans a 20-state region from Maine to Georgia. Griffin serves the industry on a national scale via its SHS Griffin green-goods division. Founded in 1972, W.H. Milikowski is a distributor of hard goods and green goods to the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions.

“We are thrilled that Mark Milikowski and most of his team will join the Griffin family,” says Rick Hyslip, president of Griffin. “With the addition of their Stafford Springs, Conn., location, we now have 15 distribution centers available to supply high-quality horticultural products to the marketplace.”

Hyslip adds, “We intend to make the transition as seamless as possible for both our customers and our employees. Griffin will continue to offer the same knowledge, service and support our customers expect and for which we’ve been recognized throughout the years.”

The acquisition of W.H. Milikowski marks the second recent expansion of Griffin, following the purchase of Syngenta Horticultural Services in November 2012.
