Bill Stengel has been named national sales manager of Summit Chemical Co., manufacturer of environmentally responsible products for landscapes and ponds.
Stengel is responsible for supervising the national sales activities for Summit’s retail product line, marketed under the brand name Summit Responsible Solutions.
In his new capacity, Stengel will work with distributors, retailers and manufacturers’ representatives to provide them with sales information and support, focusing primarily on top-selling Summit products, including Mosquito Dunks, Mosquito Bits, Summit Year-Round Spray Oil, Summit Biological Caterpillar & Webworm Control and Clear-Water Barley Straw.
“We are delighted to have someone of Bill Stengel’s experience and expertise overseeing our sales operations,” says Jonathan Cohen, president of Summit. “Bill will work to further expand the distribution of our products into retail stores and increase consumer awareness of the value and reliability of Summit Responsible Solutions products.”
Stengel has more than 30 years of experience in the lawn and garden industry. He began his business career as one of two buyers at Commerce Corporation, where he eventually was promoted to sales manager. After many years of outstanding service at Commerce, he left to form his own sales agency in the Mid-Atlantic region. As business increased, Stengel merged his company with a Virginia-based agency, forming Rep Force. Prior to joining Summit, Stengel was a principal at Carberry Associates LTD, one of the premier sales agencies in the Mid-Atlantic area.
