Taste Of Toronto
In it's 25th year of integrity and elegance, the Canadian Greenhouse Conference continues to "wow" not only its attendees, but exhibitors, as well.
A look of enthusiasm and excitement was seen on almost every face. The pure joy of hassle-free parking, set-up, and takedown were the topic of conservation. With a trade show floor full of eager exhibitors and attendees, this year's Canadian Greenhouse Conference (CGC) will go down in the books as a huge success.
It was a record-breaking show, says conference executive coordinator Donna Cobbledick. "We had approximately 2,850 attendees and 217 exhibitors filling more than 400 booth spaces," she says.
For its third consecutive year, the International Centre, Toronto, ON, opened its doors to industry movers and shakers October 8-9. Since its inception in 1979, CGC has grown in size over the last 25 years and is regarded as the most important two days in the year for Canadian greenhouse growers. Ornamental and vegetable growers were in the limelight, having the opportunity to choose from a variety of events including tours, seminars, and the trade show itself.
College Of Knowledge
By the number of attendees that filled Aviation Hall B, it was clear the educational seminars were a success. The Flower Program kicked off with a series on potted plants and trends in the industry. Poinsettia production and lighting issues were some of the topics at hand under potted plants, while subjects such as finding your niche and a Home Depot perspective on trends were the focus of the trends in the industry discussion.
The second day of wisdom consisted of bedding plant issues. This session not only included what's new in perennials and ornamental grasses, but energy costs and border issues, as well.
