Floralife Appoints New General Manager

Alan Tanouye recently joined Floralife as general manager of the company’s North American operations. In joining the global management team, Tanouve will support the company’s market development activities and customer relationships in the North American mass market and grocery store businesses for post-harvest flower care and handling. 

“Alan brings much experience and industry insight to assist in strengthening our commitment of post-harvest care in the United States and Canadian marketplace,” says Jim Daly, vice president of Floralife. “Having grown up in his family’s business producing and shipping Hawaiian tropical flowers, he understands firsthand the importance of flower quality and freshness, which will allow us to better support our customers.”

Tanouye also assumes the responsibility of managing the Floralife facility in Walterboro, S.C., along with global services in executing the development of enhanced and new product lines.

Tanouye previously worked as president and CEO for VIP Florist’s Network and Vans Inc. floral wholesale distribution company. He was an auditor for Deloitte Haskins & Sells for five years and holds a Master’s degree in accounting from the University of Hawaii.
