The addition of Steeghs in operational management, working together closely with Director Operations Jan Vermeulen, will help Biobest cope with the challenges associated with a rapid increase in the number and size of production sites globally and demand for locally adapted species for pollination and biological control.

Steeghs was formerly a Plant Manager at the Syngenta Bioline bumblebee factory and Van Mellaert has extensive expertise in the creation and growth of several life science and biotechnology companies. Both Nick and Herman will be part of the company’s executive Committee.

The expansion of the Business Development team allows Biobest to streamline the commercial organization and to integrate business development projects with the sales organization. Marc Mertens will focus on the sales organization in Europe, Asia, Middle East and Africa as Sales Director EAMEA. Richard Ward will be the Sales Director for North and South America.
