Trays And Containers That Make Planting Easy

Cow Pots

CowPots

CowPots’ #4 Square containers are the ultimate earth-friendly seed starter pots. These “pots you plant” are made with biodegradable, 100-percent renewable composted cow manure. CowPots are suitable in a greenhouse environment for up to 12 weeks. Once planted, CowPots quickly biodegrade, giving your plants the benefits of manure while virtually eliminating transplant shock.

These pots also fit standard plastic carrier, have a porous wall that allows unrestricted root growth and are great for step-up transplants for vegetables and annuals. The manufacturing process removes all of the weeds, pathogens and odor from the manure. This leaves the natural fiber and goodness of manure for a perfectly plantable pot.

Flat Tire Décor

Flat Tire Décor features innovative products created from recycled tires. The Newport is Flat Tire’s largest and most versatile basket. Due to the uniqueness of the tires and the manufacturing process, each product has its own distinct character, texture, and story. No two products will ever be identical. All products are made in Milwaukee using two organizations for assembly. Both are job skills workshops that give valuable training. This leads to a greater sense of self-esteem and improves the function and quality of life for persons with disabilities. Flat Tire Décor employees are proud of the products and the people that make them.

rEarth Pots

McConkey Co. introduces rEarth, a new line of 100-percent-recycled plant containers made from water bottles (rPET). rEarth containers are sturdy, tear-resistant and comparable or superior to other plastics in strength, performance and price. Each is stamped with a Recycled Water Bottles stamp, so consumers know the container is rEarth recycled and recyclable.

McConkey is on track to recycle 72 million water bottles a year at its Garden Grove, Calif., manufacturing plant. It takes about one 16.9-ounce water bottle to make one rEarth 4.3-inch round pot. That’s in contrast to traditional containers that must be brought back to retailers for recycling, if they can be recycled at all.

OMNI Growing Solutions

OMNI Solutions’ Aero NT is stabilized media for propagation of unrooted liners. This soil-based plug bonded from a premium blend of white and cocoa peat moss and perlite comes in 50-cell, 102 and 72 solid and 104 propagation strip. Pre-drilled plug-holes allow easy sticking and ensure good stem-soil contact, encouraging callous and quick rooting. Aero NT is available with up to three plug-holes, providing a high degree of flexibility.

Plant Pie

The Plant Pie method, created by Alan Van Wingerden, the owner of OVW Greenhouses, is a patented way of growing plants in a round shallow tray. Customers have reported that the Plant Pie produces top-quality, thriving flowers and plants because of how the roots develop. Simply use top-quality soil and follow the easy directions, and the Plant Pie root system spreads laterally, maximizing the amount of soil within its shallow, 3-inch, ribbed tray.

Landmark Plastics

New to the Landmark Plastic line of top-quality thermoform pots for 2012 is the 7.50-inch Thermoformed Pot. In addition to the high-gloss sidewall and strong rolled lip prominent in the line, it incorporates an industry-unique drainage template. Options to run the pot with maximum drainage or just “high overflow” make it flexible for any growing environment.

To complement the new pot, Landmark added a new Three-count Transport Tray in high-impact polypropylene. The tray is ideal for flat filling and
shipping, and it has obvious handling advantages. This size container is perfect for geraniums, mums and poinsettias.

Myers Industries Lawn & Garden Group

The new 03.50 Round Coex Pot and 12 Count Tray boast a strong, durable rim design that allows for effective use in automation systems. Specially adapted for automatic filling equipment and handling by mass merchandisers, the containers can also be used in combination with trays to assist in handling and labor savings. Dual drain bottoms increase soil drainage and aeration.

Both products are made from tough, durable polypropylene. The low side on the tray allows the customer to display any custom color or labels on the container.

Western Pulp Products

The Clip-on Nylon Hanger design is faster and easier to use than the current barbed hanger and eyelet system for hanging baskets. To install, press the clip over the rolled rim of any of Western Pulp’s 10 and 12 baskets and the tension clip does the rest. The hanger eliminates the need for baskets with eyelets and saves time, saves labor and saves money.

The new 12X5RD Ready-to-plant container features nine additional 1-inch diameter holes in the bottom. This container is ideal as a drop-in liner for decorative planters and to add instant spots of color that root into a flower bed through the bottom holes. At the end of the season, the made-from-recycled-paper molded fiber container can easily be composted or rototilled into the flower bed.

Summit Plastics

Summit Plastics’ ’ “Locked in Garden” Clear Three Ring gives the grower/retailer the ability to market three printed/branded round quart pots together as one sales transaction at point of sale. Clear, curbside recycled PET resin allows your marketing message to be viewed “clearly.” This product fits Janor 12cm H quart pots.
