Grow-Tech Introduces New Media Plug, Joins Dümmen Orange Team

Grow-Tech LLC, a designer and manufacturer of stabilized growing media products, is making waves this week with the launch of a new plug and an announcement that it is joining forces with Dümmen Orange.
Grow-Tech’s newest product, the CatEyePlug, is designed for easy transplanting of tissue culture starts and pre-rooted cuttings. The eye of the plug allows for the precise and rapid placement of small and delicate plant material, such as tissue culture, micro cuttings, and other hard-to-start plants.
The plug’s unique eye-shaped dibble makes it possible to open the plug with one hand. Once squeezed, the CatEyePlug opens and creates the perfect spot for the placement of a young plant. When you let go of the plug, it closes and holds the tissue culture plant in position.
“Grow-Tech works with several companies that produce tissue culture plants,” says Edwin Dijkshoorn, CEO of Grow-Tech. “Following the successful launch of our ZenPlug for large tissue culture roots structures, the CatEyePlug is designed for small, delicate root systems. The stabilized growing media and the unique way of opening the plug makes it easy to place the tissue culture plant instead of forcing it into the rooting media. It increases efficiencies and improves propagation yields.
Like the FlexiPlug and ZenPlug, the CatEyePlug provides young plants with the optimal environment for root growth: excellent water-holding capacity, optimal aeration, and even dry down.

Grow-Tech also recently announced that it is joining the family of businesses of Dümmen Orange, a move that reflects the growing importance of scale in the plug business, and the opportunity to serve the consolidating young plant growers around the world.
