Pindstrup Groups Open Modern Wood Fibre Plant In The Baltics

Pindstrup LogoThe Pindstrup Group, one of the world’s largest producers of growing media for professional horticulture, recently opened a new wood fibre plant near Riga, Latvia, for the production of Forest Gold, a new component for growing media.

The company’s 5-million Euro investment in the plant will make it possible to significantly increase the company’s production volume and exports, while also increasing the number of employees at the company.

“The new wood fibre plant is a very important project for the entire Pindstrup Group,” says Simon Søe, CEO of Pindstrup Latvia. “There is nothing like this plant in the Baltics, and it will allow Pindstrup to expand the production of growing media by 30%.”

Søe says the Pindstrup Group remains dedicated to developing and delivering substrates of the highest quality to its customers in more than 100 countries around the world. Research and trials have shown that great results can be achieved when growing plants in substrates that contain a mix of peat and wood fibre. This is why The Pindstrup Group developed Forest Gold (wood fibre mixed with Pindstrup peat) and invested in a state-of-the-art plant.
