Indiana Flower Growers Conference Focus On Energy

The annual Indiana Flower Growers Association Conference will take place from October 8-9 this year in West Lafayette, Ind., with a theme centered on greenhouse energy efficiency. Speakers will cover topics from alternative energy systems to scheduling greenhouse crops energy efficiently. 

Representatives from the USDA will discuss the ins and outs of the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) that provides financial assistance for rural small businesses and producers to make improvements in energy efficiency, as well as the purchase of renewable energy systems.  You’ll learn how you can conduct an energy audit of your facility from a horticultural engineer.

The conference will include a golf tournament, a banquet and end with a tour of the Purdue National Poinsettia Trials and horticulture gardens.
