IGC East Is Moving To Philadelphia In 2016

The IGC Show has signed a multi-year contract with the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, Penn., as the new home for IGC East. It offers a centrally located, secure facility with key cost savings and conveniences for Eastern independent garden center retailers and vendor exhibitors alike.
IGC Show organizers have also announced a new focus for the East event, which will be held August 2-4, 2016. The offerings will now target the special interests of Eastern retailers with regionally relevant keynotes, educational conference sessions and peer-to-peer networking opportunities, including Tuesday evening’s concert. To more precisely convey this Eastern niche focus, the event is taking on a new name: “EIGC – The Eastern Show for IGCs.”
“After carefully considering the post-show surveys from our 2015 Baltimore IGC Show this past summer, we determined there was a sufficient level of concern among both attendees and exhibitors about the location,” says IGC Show co-founder Jeff Morey. “So when we were presented with the opportunity to relocate our East show to the Greater Philly Expo Center, we said, ‘We owe it to our loyal supporters to check it out.’
“As we weighed the decision to relocate our East show, the safety and stability of the Greater Philly Expo Center’s suburban location was the first key advantage that stood out. This centrally located facility is easy to get to from virtually anywhere in the East,” Morey says.
Additional EIGC advantages benefitting retailers and vendors alike include:
• Free EIGC Show parking at expo center and all show hotels
• Free EIGC Show day shuttles between the hotels and the expo center during main show hours
• Free EIGC Show evening shuttles between hotels and area restaurants and entertainment districts
• Affordable EIGC hotel block rates starting around $100
EIGC-exclusive incentives for exhibiting vendors include:
• Low-cost, non-union facility, making exhibiting more affordable and hassle-free
• Booth self-setup: non-union facility gives exhibitors the option of performing all booth work on their own
• 1,000 pounds free drayage, and beyond that, exhibitors may elect to move themselves or hire movers onsite.
IGC Chicago vendors who exhibit at EIGC will enjoy a “Lucky 13% Discount” on their EIGC booth space, in honor of the IGC Show’s 10-year anniversary this year in Chicago and three years in the East. IGC Chicago brings its formula for retail success back to Chicago’s Navy Pier for next summer’s very special 10th Anniversary Celebration, August 16-18, 2016.
