Upcoming Water Education Alliance Events

The Water Education Alliance is hosting an educational webinar on nutritional aspects of water quality January 20 at 2 p.m. ET. The Blackmore Company’s Bill Argo will lead the 30-minute presentation. Register for the webinar at WaterEducationAlliance.org. Additionally, the alliance will conduct a two-day workshop February 2 and 3 in Aurora, Ore. The workshop is broadly focused on water management for floriculture and nursery crops. Registration is $80 per person if completed by January 15. Investment Group Acquires Greenhouse Heating Company

L.B. White Company has been acquired by an investment group including Jeff Diermeier, Rick Diermeier and Kevin Gagermeier. The acquisition includes L.B. White, PSI Heating Systems and two sister companies that make up Hospitality International and La Crosse and Carroll Chair Company. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  Rick Diermeier has served as the company’s president and COO since 2004, and Gagermeier has served as CFO since 2007. Jeff Diermeier is the company’s new chairman and is a private investor who was the former CEO of the CFA Institute headquartered in Charlottesville, Va. L.B White is based in Onalaska, Wisc. It manufactures direct-fired forced air, radiant and indirect-fired heaters.

Russell Joins Thayer Corporation

Greenhouse system engineer Terry Russell has joined Thayer Corporation of Auburn, Maine, spearheading its commercial greenhouse heating solution efforts. With more than 15 years in the industry, Russell previously worked as a systems designer and engineer for TrueLeaf Technologies and GreenLink LLC. Aquascape Donates, Installs Rainwater Harvesting System

Aquascape is donating a 500-gallon RainXchange rainwater harvesting system with 20-foot stream to Universal Design Living Laboratory (UDLL), a 3500-square-foot home in Columbus, Ohio. The UDLL project was initiated by Rosemarie Rosetti, a motivational speaker, author and wheelchair user, along with her husband Mark Leder, after a bicycling accident left Rosetti paralyzed from the waist down. The Universal Design Living Laboratory will become a home to Rosetti and Leder upon completion, in addition to serving as a learning resource for builders, designers, architects and consumers.
