ChromatiNet Red (Signature Supply)

Light diffusion and transmission can make all the difference when it comes to plant quality and health in the greenhouse. Because of this, today’s coverings manufacturers are focused on products that offer flexibility in diffusion and color, with the goal of both improved light penetration and lower heating costs.

ChromatiNet Red (Signature Supply)

ChromatiNet Red changes the light spectrum transmitted to plants, reducing the spectrum of blue, green, and yellow light and increasing the red and far-red light spectrum. Thus, the rhythm of plants’ development under red light is increased, their leaf surface is larger, their stems are longer and thicker, and the total foliage volume is higher. The net enables early flowering without decreasing flower quality. The net is suitable mainly for growers who wish to accelerate growth and increase foliage volume plants such as house plants, decorative branches, non-flowering herbs, and a variety of field and nursery plants, especially when the objective is to enhance the development of root systems in shoots and tissue culture plantlets. Flexible, light, strong, and easy to spread, the net is available in various widths. It is recyclable and UV resistant.

Harmony 5747 FR Diffused Light Climate Screen (Ludvig Svensson)

Harmony 5747 FR Diffused Light Climate Screen (Ludvig Svensson)

Harmony Diffused Light Climate Screens (Ludvig Svensson)

Svensson recently introduced its next generation of Harmony diffused light climate screens. For example, the Harmony 5747 FR is a new closed structure screen that takes diffused light in the greenhouse to the next level. It scatters sunlight like no other, creating a soft light that covers more parts of the crop and reaches deeper into every plant. Compared to traditional Harmony, plants in shaded spots receive 32% more light. More light exposure and lower temperatures allow plants and people to flourish in the greenhouse. The result is faster growth and stronger plants. Svensson’s complete line of new Harmony screens will be available in open and closed versions and in a wide range of shading levels, all with flame-retardant properties that meet the industry’s highest fire safety standards.

New Harmony climate screens are produced at Svensson’s factory in Kinna, Sweden, and will be available for delivery in time for spring 2016.

Technical details for the 5747 FR:
• Application: Inside
• System: Sliding, Hanging
• Material composition: 100% Polyester
• Pattern: 3 white diffuse, 1 transparent diffuse, 2 white diffuse, 1 transparent diffuse
• Flame retardant: Yes
• Weight: 65 g/m²
• Width of strips: 4 mm
• Shading level in direct light
— Integrated sphere: 57%
— WUR method: 63%
• Shading level in diffused light

• Energy saving: 47%
• Warranty: Five years under all types of greenhouse covering; see Svensson’s limited warranty for all terms, conditions, and exclusions in writing.

Luminance (AT Films, Inc.)

Luminance is a highly diffused thermal film that provides high PAR light transmission. The diffused light creates an even light canopy in the greenhouse, reaching the plants from all angles. This helps to eliminate stretching and produces a higher yielding crop. As it is a thermal film, it will help to retain heat in the cooler months and also help to reduce the heat load in the warmer months, as much as 9°F.
