Fire Engulfs Aldershot Of New Mexico Facility

A packing and shipping building at Aldershot of New Mexico caught fire last Thursday in Mesilla Park, N.M. A welder’s torch caused the fire, authorities say, sparking insulation and eventually gutting the building in a massive fire that reignited for a few minutes Friday afternoon.

Greenhouses filled with poinsettias, tulips, mums, roses and other potted plants were untouched, The Las Cruces Sun-News reported. As of the weekend, a damage estimate had yet to be determined. Owner Peter Vanderlugt, however, anticipates being able to fill most holiday contracts. He also expects to maintain his entire staff of 100 employees despite the potential cost damages.

Multiple firefighting agencies responded Thursday, including county volunteers, the city of Las Cruces and White Sands fire departments.

  1. I recently purchased some miniature roses that were provided by your company. I had these for one week before they started to die. I reported them and gave them rose food, I even bought bottled water on them thinking that the water here was to hard for them. a week later they were died. This is not the first time I purchased roses from your company and had them die almost immediately.
Ideally, I would like to be reimbursed for the three rose bushes I purchased; however, if you would just send me replacements for them I would accept that.
Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.

  2. I recently purchase a beautiful plant from Harris Teeter, a local grocery store in my Charlotte, North Carolina.
The label on the pot only has care information and your contact information. In addition there is a upc code, so I am thinking you may could look it up using the code. The code is 8 99706 00207 0.
I write articles about plants and landscaping for a site called Examiner.com. My articles are about plants that grow well in this part of the country. Each article contains references to places where my readers can buy plants. I hope I can get the plant information and will mention your greenhouse in my next article. Please provide me with any information you feel would be helpful to my readers about how to order plants from you company or anything you find useful.
    I appreciate your asistance.
    Sincerely

  3. I recently pruchased a potted plant from SMITH’S Grocery store. It is a lovely flowering plant with fragile lavender colored pedals. I do not see a name of the plant. Below the care instructions is: 10″ Dish Garden I assume this is the size of the pot or is “Dish Garden” the name of the plant?

Thanks for your asistance. hgl – Grants, NM

  4. i got a plant from wal mart and i dont know what it is its a type of ice plant of sorts. flat leafs and clumps of bright red flowers grows great. the number on side is 98824 thank you tommy

  5. I ourchased a lavender plant at Costco yesterday . The label only says “lavender” and does not indicate what type it is. It is a beautiful plant & would like info on how to keep it that way. Would really appreciate your help in identifying this lavender. Thanks.

  6. My problem is the same as others who have purchased a plant with a label from here, but without a name of the plant. With the name one can find out how to care for the plant. It seems you are not customer friendly; simply, please put the name of the plant on your labels.
