The foliage buyers of all ECGC, a consortium and buying group of leading regional garden centers, perform an evaluation on each preferred vendor. The evaluation contains objective criteria and a graduated scale that evaluates product and customer service. Schubert Nursery received the highest score.

“We believe in partnerships with our vendors and in this spirit, we perform these evaluations and share the results. This process helps build strong long term relationships with our vendors,” says Kathy Scott, ECGC purchasing director.

The 11 independent garden centers that make up ECGC are: Al’s Garden Center, Armstrong Garden Centers, English Gardens, Green View Companies, Homestead Gardens, Mahoney’s Garden Centers, Martin Viette Nurseries, Southern Homes & Gardens, Molbak’s, McDonald Garden Centers and Pike Nurseries.
