Garfield Park Celebrates Centennial

Chicago’s Garfield Park Conservatory will celebrate 100 years of innovation and botanical contributions with a year of events, activities, shows and programs as part of "CHICAGOASIS: The Greenest Show On Earth."

Owned and operated by the Chicago Park District, the conservatory first opened its doors to the public in April 1908 and is a horticultural masterpiece and historic landmark amid the beautiful boulevards of Chicago’s West Side. It was designed by celebrated landscape architect Jens Jensen. It’s the largest public glass house in the nation and has undergone dramatic revitalization in the past decade, including the addition of a 6-acre walking garden.
