“One of the key differentiators for HGTV’s program is regionalizing our shrub offerings,” says Maria Zampini, director of plant development. “Through careful breeder and grower selection — coupled with plant zone-specific plant selections — we are choosing plants that will work best in each region of the country. This is unique to anything else in the marketplace and allows us to create a national program with regional offerings. We have received extremely positive feedback at the IGC and FarWest tradeshows.”

The Smart & Stylish shrub collection offers plants designed to thrive in full sun to shade exposure. Vibrant leaf and flower colors offer consumers a cohesive and easy way to enhance the outside of their home landscape. The collection includes but is not limited to:

  • Always Azaleas: Reblooming, cold-hardy selection in multiple colors and sizes
  • Barberry Sidekicks: Dwarf and upright ornamental shrubs in vibrant shades
  • Fine Vines: Fragrant climbers that attract beneficials and hummingbirds
  • Gardenia Charm: Evergreens deliciously fragrant are reminiscent of tropical locales
  • Happy Berry Hypericums: Compact perennial shrubs with uniquely colored berries in eye catching combinations
  • Light Bright Lantanas: Drought tolerant, brightly colored umbel flowers attract butterflies and are deer resistant
  • Monkey Flower Power: Exceptionally large, long blooming flowers for a shade and moisture loving tender perennial
  • Pretty Potentillas: Large, clear flowers bloom all summer long
  • Showstopper Hydrangeas: Mophead and paniculata varieties in a wealth of forms, shapes and colors
