John was hired by OFA in February 2002. A lifelong Hoosier, John was raised in a family dedicated to public service and helping others. His career began by serving on staff with the Indiana House of Representatives. He then worked in the government affairs division of the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. He later spent several years with the Indiana Health Care Association. Before joining OFA, John was the executive director of the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water.

“While John’s presence will be missed, your board of directors is committed to ensuring the organization continues to meet the needs of our stakeholders and management partners. John made sure the organization had a strong infrastructure in place to survive challenging times,” said Barnitz.

John received his B.A. in Political Science from Purdue University and a law degree from Indiana University. Licensed to practice law in Indiana, John was certified in association management by both the American Society of Association Executives and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
