Renewed Push For Immigration Reform

American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA) and the Society of American Florists (SAF) are leading the charge for Congress to enact comprehensive immigration reform that would include AgJOBS. ANLA’s senior director of government relations, Craig Regelbrugge, co-chairs the Agriculture Coalition for Immigration Reform. Last week, he spoke on behalf of labor-intensive agriculture at USDA’s annual Agricultural Outlook Conference.

Next week, SAF will mobilize members to lobby for both immigration reform and an increase in funding for the Floriculture and Nursery Research Initiative during SAF’s Congressional Action Days, March 12 and 13, in Washington, D.C. Growers, florists, wholesalers and allied industry members will be prepped on the issues on Monday and visit their representatives and senators on Tuesday.
