Report: Hines Files WARN Notice, Layoffs May Follow

Hines Nurseries has notified the state of Oregon that it may lay off 56 workers by March, the Portland Business Journal reports.

Hines, which operates a nursery in Forest Grove, Ore., notified city, county and state officials of impending layoffs. The company filed a WARN notice (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act) on Jan. 6.

Hines, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last fall, indicates layoffs will likely occur between March 8 and 22.
