Revised I-9 Forms Now Required For Employment Eligibility Verification

The revised Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, went into effect on April 3 for all U.S. employers. Employers may no longer use previous versions of the Form I-9. A press release from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service explains that the new form improves the security and effectiveness of the Form I-9 process.

The new rule revises the list of documents that are acceptable for the Employment Eligibility Verification process. Expired documents are no longer accepted.
