Skagit Gardens’ Gary Hartnett Passes Away

Gary Harnett, Skagit Gardens’ production leader and a long-time member of the opration, passed away on July 30th. After a long battle with cancer, he died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his family.

Hartnett began his career at Skagit Gardens as a grower in September 1979 and quickly became operations manager. In this position, he served as a key member of the management team until his retirement in March 2011.

“Gary fought the battle with his illness in much the same way as he led his team: with courage, conviction and an engaging sense of humor,” the team at Skagit Gardens said in a press release. “We at Skagit Gardens feel privileged to have benfitted from his leadership, and know that memories of him and his gentle influence will continue forward.”
