2014 Field Trials Results: Massachusetts Horticultural Society (Wellesley, Mass.)

The trial garden at MassHort includes 182 varieties, composed of 91 performance trial plants, 20 new perennials, 12 AAS trial plants, 47 over-wintered plants and 12 plants in patio containers. Annuals are trialed on their performance in the garden, as well as in containers, while perennials are planted only in the garden beds.

The weather was cloudy in May with heavy cold rains at times and late frosty weather untill the third week. June was much better with a few 90 degree days and just enough rain. Conditions started to dry out in July with less rain and good, hot summer weather.
