2017 University of Georgia Field Trial Results

The 2017 field trials at The University of Georgia trial gardens in Athens, GA, put the newest varieties of annuals and perennials from top plant breeders around the world to the test to see if they would stand up to southeastern heat and humidity. Performance ratings are based on number of flowers, leaf color, uniformity of habit and flower, resistance to insects and diseases, and overall appearance.

Each year, The University of Georgia picks the very best plants in its gardens, based on year-round performance and/or eye-catching beauty, for the Classic City Awards, which are equivalent to getting an Oscar and Tony award rolled into one.
