2017 University of Tennessee Field Trials Results
The University of Tennessee Gardens in Jackson, TN, trialed more than 225 varieties of annuals, perennials, vegetables, and herbs. Trials were planted over the month of May and data was taken June through September. Overall, the growing session was good. The trials had 47 days in June, July, and August above 90°F, which is near average. Nightly low temperatures were average. Rainfall in June was below average, July average, and August above average. Supplemental irrigation was used as needed. Winds from hurricane Harvey caused some damage to plants the last few days in August.
