Dendranthema 'Sizzling Igloo'

The Igloo series of perennial garden-mum-like dendranthemas brings tremendous flower power to the summer and early fall perennial border. Three additions add depth to the series, bringing new flower forms and a new color to round out the mix:
‘Fireworks Igloo’ with pink spider flowers;  ‘Icicle Igloo’ with white daisy flowers and ‘Sizzling Igloo,’ which features yellow daisy flowers.

All combine well with the decorative flower forms of others in the series: ‘Cool Igloo’ (raspberry), ‘Frosty Igloo’ (white), ‘Rosy Igloo’ (coral red), ‘Sunny Igloo’ (yellow) and ‘Warm Igloo’ (orange/bronze).

Versatile Performers

Igloo boasts show-stopping balls of blooms for instant fall color in the ground or in containers. Compared to other perennials, the Igloos offer tremendous bloom time, ease of care and:
•    First-year flowering perennial
•    Domed habit with a height of up to 2 feet tall by 2.5 feet wide
•    Masses of blooms up to 2 inches in diameter
•    Uniform flowering
•    Repeat blooming in the garden over a long period (June–September, depending on the region)

Consumers are still asking, “Are garden mums hardy?” The answer is yes with the Igloo series from Blooms of Bressingham. Igloos are reliably hardy to 20°F. These are true Zone 5 perennials and never need to come in out of the cold.

Trialed For Success

The New Products team at Aris Green Leaf Plants has put the Igloos through their paces and found them to be highly reliable performers. Plants have been trialed in the ground and in pots. Meticulous technical growing data was collected and compiled to get an accurate read on the plants’ attributes.

Easy To Grow

Transplant liners into 4- to 10-inch pots, one plant per pot. Use multiple cuttings for larger pots. Plant in full sun in well-drained root media. Water in with 300 to 400 ppm of 20-20-20. Provide adequate moisture and never let plants wilt or stress from lack of water. No pinching is required, and vernalization is not needed for flowering. Flowering is in early September the first year.
