@Laura_GG_Editor: Basewell may change the game for how breeders provide live inputs to growers. Perry Wismans says the third party breeders @DummenOrangeNA works with will have this option for production, and he may license the technology to other breeders.

@Laura_GG_Editor: Perry Wismans of @DummenOrangeNA says the new Basewell program will help growers with the problematic labor shortage by providing a product between a rooted liner and callused cutting. The cutting strip can contain nutrients like rooting hormone to improve plant health.

@Laura_GG_Editor: Perry Wismans of @DummenOrangeNA, says the Basewell program’s biodegradeable strip can be loaded in Autostix machines, or cut (offshore) for ISO machines or hand-sticking cuttings. It takes about five to six weeks to break down, but plants catch up quickly.

@Janeen_GG: Dummen Orange’s Basewell rooting technology with its patented gel coating is going to be a gamechanger. It’s adaptable to automation or speeds up hand transplanting, and it is supposed to save space and labor for growers.

Waterfall Dreams Tags
@Janeen_GG: Marketing Manager Sirekit Mole says @BeekenkampNL is trying out putting males on its Waterfall Dreams tags to test out consumer response, which has been very positive so far.
We got a bit sidetracked and off schedule with networking due to all of the fantastic people coming through the Dümmen Orange trial. But the plants, news, and marketing ideas we saw and learned about there, not to mention great conversations with friends and colleagues, made it worth the extra time. Check them all out in the slideshow and let us know your opinions in the comments below.
