Encore Azalea Revamps Consumer Website

Encore Azalea has unveiled its newly redesigned website at EncoreAzalea.com, according to plant breeder Robert E. “Buddy” Lee.

“We’ve enhanced the look, content, and functionality of our popular website,” Lee says. “Now, Encore Azalea gardeners and retailers can view the 24 varieties by size or in the photo gallery and find complete planting and care tips. Gardeners can also locate Encore Azalea retailers in their area, find out which varieties grow best in their climate zone and read project tips and testimonials. These are just a few of the enhancements for consumers. We’ve also expanded our content for retailers.”

Encore Azaleas begin blooming each spring like a traditional azalea. Once this initial blooming concludes, new shoots begin to grow and set buds. Then, blooms emerge again in mid-summer and continue in many areas until first frost; that’s something no other azalea can consistently do. Today, the 24 varieties of Encore Azalea offer a growth habit and bloom color for every landscape.

Plant Development Services Inc. (PDSI), based in Loxley, Ala., assisted Lee in the 15-year hybridization and selection process. PDSI now manages the group of wholesale growers that bring Encore Azaleas to gardeners across the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Northwest.
