New for 2007 from Anthony Tesselaar Plants are ‘Volcano Ruby’ phlox and ‘Flower Carpet Scarlet’ rose. Volcano is a remarkable series of perennial phlox that are compact, sturdy, exceptionally floriferous and extremely tolerant of the powdery mildew. In spring 2007, ‘Volcano Ruby’ will be released, followed by additional colors in following seasons.

Volcano’s dense upright multi-branched form, with up to 15 to 30 sturdy stems by the second season, features flower clusters of up to 125 flowers per stem. They provide masses of color from June through October and are hardy in USDA Zones 4 to 10. They grow 24 to 40 inches tall, depending on conditions.

‘Flower Carpet Scarlet’ is a hardy, compact bush with glossy green foliage and abundant clusters of vibrant red double blossoms. They are known for their big color, long bloom seasons and extremely high levels of natural disease-resistance. Flower Carpet roses aren’t fussy show roses. Their densely compact bushes look satisfying, even when the roses aren’t in bloom. For more information, visit www.tesselaar.com.
