Hot For Hollyhocks

Among the exciting 2012 introductions from United Kingdom-based Thompson & Morgan are six tall hollyhocks in the Halo series. Halo Red is a Fleuroselect novelty award winner.

 

“All are single flowering,” says Andrew Spencer, Thompson & Morgan’s wholesale international sales manager. “These are first-year flowering perennials. We were looking for good, strong, contrasting bicolors to add interest to the series.

 

Other new varieties are the Polkadot collection featuring four digitalis hybrids, the Beauty series of primula that features six colors designed for earlier flowering and ipomoea ‘Persian Star.’
